CommTech: Flash

We started Adobe Flash today in Communications Tech. We began by adding a background layer and and other new layers to create pictures that popped up, along with adding a text layer. Since its brand new to us, it was a little hard to figure out, but I think we'll get the hang of it soon. According to the kids who had CommTech first marking period, it gets a lot harder! But supposedly, nothing compares to networking.

CommTech: More Photoshop

This week in Photoshop we restored an old photo, which was very difficult if you wanted it to look good. We also created our own holiday card and today we had to match terms with their definitions. Hopefully we won't have a quiz on the terms anytime soon, considering they weren't so easy!

NEW YORK GIANTS BEAT COWBOYS

In an exhilarating fourth quarter, the New York Giants stole a win from the Dallas Cowboys, tying with them for 1st place in the division with a record of 7-6. With five and a half minutes left to go, Eli Manning took the Giants down field for a touchdown and a two point conversion, making the score 37-34. The Cowboys then had an opportunity to tie the game with a field goal, but the kick was blocked by the Giants, giving them the win and giving them a shot in the playoffs.

CommTech: Photo Finish

The end of photoshop is in sight, as we'll probably be finished with photoshop next week and begin moving into flash. The other class said flash is really hard, so I guess I'm a little scared. But today in Photoshop we cut a spaceship using the pen tool and pasted it onto an outer space background. We then used th custom shape tool and pen tools to cut out different shapes from different layers. It wasn't that hard, and I think I'm really getting the hang of Photoshop.

Comm Tech: Photoshop Week 2

We started off this week working on designing our own olive oil label/bottle on photoshop. Next, we started working on the butterfly. We had to crop and rotate it so it was straight and then color mulitple layers of the drawing to "paint" the butterfly. We also learning how to use dodge and burns tools.

New York Giants vs. Saints

The Giants fought their best against the New Orleans Saints Monday night. The final score was 49-24, adding another loss to the Giants record and sending them into a wild card position with 6 wins and 5 losses. Sunday at home the Giants will take on the Packers at home.

CommTech: Photoshop and HIB

This week in CommTech we starting learning about Photoshop. First we experimented using the basics on different pictures. Then we learned about layers and had to construct our own face using different vegetables. Yesterday and today we created our own movie posters that conveyed a message of prevent bullying. We'll probably still be learning Photoshop the rest of this week and a bit of next week. There's s much to cover!
HIB stands for Harassment Intimidation Bullying. Bullying is an awful feat sweeping across our nation. Hopefully this acronym and the other actions that many schools in America are taking will help to stop this "plague" of unkindness. <3

Senior Switch Day

Today was Senior Switch Day! For CommTech we did an internet scavenger hunt, and our group won  2 half pound Reese's cups! So excited for Thanksgiving Break, and what better way to end the week before break than senior switch day.

Hey There!

This is my blog! To start off, today in CommTech, we're setting up our new blogger accounts and making our first post. So far we've learned all about Google Docs and we're starting Photoshop next week!

In other news, the New York Giants suffered a tough lost to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night, 17-10. Next Monday they play the New Orleans Saints, away at 8:30 (eastern time). They are currently 6-4.
